Giving Technology a Second Life

At TechRestore, we’re committed to reducing e-waste and expanding access to technology through our TechConnect program. We give viable devices a second life by repurposing them for those who need them most.

Instead of collecting dust or ending up in a landfill, it can change a life. Donate today and be part of the solution!

How It Works

TechRestore acts as a conduit between donors and recipients, ensuring that every donated device is secure, functional, and ready to use. Here’s how we do it:

First

Identify a Device:

Upgrading to a new device? Give your old laptop, tablet, or smartphone a new purpose. If it’s still in working condition, donate it to help bridge the digital divide.

Second

TechRestore Diagnoses & Ensures Functionality

No one wants a donated problem. Our team evaluates the device to ensure it’s in proper working order for donation.

Third

Secure Data Destruction

We securely destroy all existing data, protecting the donor’s personal information.

Fourth

Installation & Cleanup

The device gets a fresh start with a clean operating system and optimized performance.

Fifth

Device is Matched with Someone in Need

We connect the device with an individual or program that can benefit from it.

Who We Help

TechConnect by TechRestore works with at-risk youth, students, and individuals facing financial hardship to provide reliable technology for education, career development, and digital access.

Upcoming Initiative: TechRestore is partnering with a program that empowers young people facing social and economic barriers, ensuring that each graduate in May receives a computer to help them take their next steps toward education or employment.

Our Legacy of Giving

Over the years, TechConnect by TechRestore has partnered with numerous groups to expand their mission. Some of our notable contributions include:

OVERSEAS STUDENTS

I’m indebted to your help in donating a computer to help me in my studies. I can’t imagine how perplexing my academic work could have been without it, I'm very much delighted indeed.
Since the computer is a necessary tool for my studies and I've got one, then I look forward to making my career a dream come true. Furthermore, I’d like to let you know that the arrival of my new computer has unveiled the infinite potential that was absolutely threatened to lose when my first computer failed. This is something that will always remain in my mind as legendary.

UpStairs Lounge arson attack of 1973

Thank you so much again for everything! Ricky was so happy to hear the good news and wanted me to convey his appreciation to you. He's so happy to have the computer, access to the internet in such a grand fashion and the ability to write on a keyboard. He sends his deepest thanks to you for making this happen. I have seen and spoken with him, how much of an impact that caring can have on someone's life, as we have both been deeply uplifted.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

All the mac books were successfully delivered! We have some super happy young people! They are such great kids and are so thankful for this opportunity. Thank you so much for thinking of us!!

Costa RIca

TechConnect brought essential technology to El Sur, Costa Rica, equipping students, schools, and families with the tools needed for learning and connectivity. We provided laptops, accessories, and audio equipment to El Sur Elementary, Bijaqual High School, and local homes with children. Additionally, the EcoSur community received memory sticks to support students in need, ensuring access to digital resources for education and growth.

Title 1 Elementary School

Without the generosity of donors like you, we would not be able to get iPads into the hands of our children. Technology is the future, and they truly thrive when using it. This will make a difference for my current students and students in the future. Again, thank you for your generous donation to our classrooms! The iPads have been a great addition to kindergarten! The students are able to play educational games, practice handwriting, make and read books! They all absolutely loveit; without your donation we would not be able to purchase the iPad for our classrooms. Thank again.

Apple’s in Appalachia

Apples in Appalachia brought much-needed technology to students in Kentucky’s Coal Counties, providing laptops through a local nonprofit to support education in underserved communities.

TechConnect has a strong legacy of giving, ensuring students have the technology they need to succeed. In response to the 2022 Eastern Kentucky Flood, we triaged, repaired, and processed over 300 donated Chromebooks for affected students. At the onset of COVID-19, we supplied a fleet of tablets to a local middle school, ensuring students could stay connected. We’ve also contributed hundreds of iPads to early education programs and provided essential devices to students without access to technology, helping bridge the digital divide in communities that need it most.

Why This Matters

Reducing E-Waste

As of 2022, the Global E-Waste Monitor found that 48 million metric tons of electronic waste were not being recycled each year. Functional devices should be repurposed, not discarded.

Empowering Individuals

Access to technology can open doors to new opportunities, helping individuals learn new skills, find jobs, and connect with the world around them.

Strengthening Communities

By providing technology to those in need, we help build stronger, more connected communities where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
